After sunset, we walked up the main street of Kuta. It looks like Vegas mixed with a beach town- lots of neon and trendy bars and shops. In 2002, two of those bars, Paddy's and Sari Club, were bombed by terrorists. OVer 300 people, mainly Australian and Indonesian, died that night. Though the bombed-out remnants of the bars are still there, in the middle of the street rises this beautiful marble monument.
