That night, we discovered an amazing restaurant. In the teeny town of Haiku, in a strip mall parking lot, is the Hana Hou Cafe. We talked to the chef, who is from PARIS! His Hawaiian local fare was the best we'd had on Maui, and his French desserts were to die for. Matt holds up the mixed plate of lau-lau (meat wrapped in ti leaves), haupia (coconut jelly), macaroni salad, rice, and roasted shredded pork.
