After a very frustrating 2 hours, which has us driving from the town of St. Martin and another neighboring town, and being told by the visitor's center that there were no accommodations of ANY sort ANYWHERE, we ended up in Neusdadt, the largest town on the Wine Road. We managed to snag a guesthouse room thanks to the visitor's center there. But thanks loads, Fodor's, for telling us that "zimmer frei rooms abound on the Wine Road; there's no need to make advance reservations." Your wonderfully inaccurate information almost had us sleeping in the Smart Car- in the snow!
