Sardinia

Flying into Sardinia, an island off the west coast of Italy!!
Our little guesthouse in Alghero's Old Town. Note the cool photo series on the right; the Old Town is filled with photos of locals who are over 100 years old.
A view from our guesthouse to the fortress sea walls.
Beautiful Alghero- it was an island fortress, and the fortress walls are now a lovely promenade.
The seafront in blazing sunshine.
Alghero's famous cathedral, crowded into the Old Town.
The entrance to the gorgeous cathedral.
The interior was huge and spacious, especially in contrast to the entrance. This is its famous silver altar.
An ancient catapult is now a piece of public art by the fortress walls.
Alghero's seaside restaurants, with tables right up to the fortress walls.
Alghero selfie!
The charming promenade in Alghero.
Just saying, this is EXACTLY what you'd expect an Italian grocery store to be: 100% pasta.
We joined the rest of the town at the fortress walls to watch the sun set on our first evening. You can sit on the walls and dangle your feet over the edge!!!
Dusk faling in Alghero.
...sunset.
A view over the walls as the sun sets.
...and darker...
Enjoying the exquisite beauty of Alghero's sunset.
...with some limoncello to go with the sunset :)
