Nepal

We are off to Nepal! On our Abu Dhabi- Kathmandu leg, we were upgraded to First Class. Whee!!
Our guesthouse in Bhaktapur- the Cosy Hotel.
Breakfast on the (chilly) rooftop of the Cosy Hotel.
Bhaktapur is famous for its clay potmaking. Nowadays, people use plastic pots...so they make clay piggybanks now.

Bhaktapur's Durbar (main town) Square. Much of this was destroyed in the 2015 earthquake, but these 2 chedi survived.
Temples in Durbar Square.
Nyatapola Temple, the tallest temple in Bhaktapur.

There were zero tourists in Bhaktapur. I had Nyatapola Temple all to myself.
The cool statues lining the stairs up to the temple.
Matt, all alone on Nyatapola.
The five sets of statues lining the temple stairs.
EFFELUNT STATUES
The final statue set at the top of the stairs.
Dattatreya Temple, in a quiet spot in Bhaktapur
A view of the square with Dattatreya Temple...the fact that those pillars are still standing post- earthquake is remarkable. All the others we saw in Nepal had toppled.
Bhaktapur is also famous for its woodcarving.
This is the most famous carving- the Peacock Window.
